New variant of Modenas KRISS 110 Disc Brake

Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS), recently introduced the Disc Brake variant of their best-selling moped model – the Modenas Kriss 110. This iconic Kriss 110, which was MODENAS’ first motorcycle model was launched in 1996. The new variant comes with a number of upgrades in September 2019, including enhanced safety features and style updates.

The Kriss 110 Disc Brake comes with front twin-piston disc brakes and rear drum brakes. It is designed with twin shock absorbers, and rides on a pair of tubeless tyres fitted with stylish sports rims, complimenting the grey titanium engine and muffler cover paint giving an extra stylish edge to the bike.

The Engine
Weighing at only 97kg, the 4-stroke, SOHC, single- cylinder, carburetor powered motorcycle remains air-cooled but packs a maximum power of 4.9kW and 6.7 NM of torque.

Enhanced Style
Upfront, the Kriss 110 Disc Brake variant gets a new multi-reflector headlamp for enhanced brightness when riding at night. This is complemented with an attractive new decal design that accentuates the overall styling.

The new variant also adds red as a new colour option, adding to the original blue and black hues available previously.

The Feel
Thanks to the shorter wheelbase, and upgrades in the material and cushion thickness of its seat, the new variant offers harmoniously enhanced ergonomics for optimum comfort and much needed vehicle control especially during long hours of daily commute.

The Extras
The Kriss 110 Disc Brake variant is also equipped with a host of convenient features. It now comes complete with a new digital fuel gauge and gear indicator; and a built-in USB charging port, whilst maintaining its spacious 6.6L under seat compartment. Another addition not available even in many other motorcycles above its class is the new hazard light feature which can be very important especially during an emergency, or when stopping by the road side due to heavy rain.

The Kriss 110 Disc Brake variant is priced at RM3,877 (before insurance and road tax) offering premium styling and a number of features that are not usually available in its class. Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Roskan is hopeful that this “Ikon Rakyat” will once again become a staple in every Malaysian household like its predecessor.

“The added features that comes with it makes the Kriss 110 Disc Brake variant one of the best choices for first-time motorcycle buyers seeking a reliable and easy-to-handle machine. It comes with a two-year warranty or 20,000km, whichever is earlier, is EEV-certified and is fully compliant with Euro 3 emission standards. I believe that with its pricing and all its safety and style upgrades, we have a winner in our hands”, says Roslan.

Roslan is also confident that Malaysian motorcycle fans will appreciate the value-for-money offered by the Kriss 110 Disc Brake variant with the added features that has been incorporated into it.
